Itinerary

Day 1: (Arrive Munich - Nuremberg)
Upon arrival at Munich Airport, you’ll transfer to Nuremberg to board your Emerald Waterways Star-Ship, to be welcomed by your captain and crew.

Meals: Dinner


Day 2: (Regensburg)
This morning, you’ll sail the end of the Main–Danube Canal to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities. On a guided walking tour, you’ll see one of the oldest bridges crossing the Danube and the city’s other architectural highlights including the Old Town Hall. This evening, enjoy a traditional Bavarian band on board.

Day 3: (Passau)
Today’s cruising will take you to the heart of Passau, where three of Europe’s main rivers converge in the shadows of the castle. Your guided tour of this illustrious city will unveil how it was rebuilt following fires in the 17th century. Italian architects left their mark with a scattering of Baroque architecture, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Enjoy exploring the city before returning to your Star-Ship for lunch and an afternoon of sailing along the Danube River.

Day 4: (Melk – Dürnstein)
History is brought to life in the quaint village of Melk. This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Melk’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Benedictine abbey, stopping to admire beautiful relics in the museum and an extensive collection of ancient manuscripts in the library. Afterwards, your Star-Ship will sail through the fascinating Wachau Valley, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wachau Cultural Landscape, and on to Dürnstein. If you are feeling active, join a guided hike to Dürnstein Castle, a medieval castle where Richard the Lionheart was held prisoner. Alternatively, embark on a guided bike tour from Melk to Dürnstein, passing terraced vineyards, castles and ruins along the way, before arriving where your Star-Ship is docked in Dürnstein.

Day 5: (Vienna)
Welcome to Vienna, the capital of classical music. Today, you can explore the Austrian capital, beginning with a drive along the magnificent Ringstrasse. See Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Burgtheater, Town Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Alternatively, embark on a guided bike tour of Danube Island and Prater Park.

Optional: A drive around the Ringstrasse and a guided walk through Vienna’s city center
Optional (extra expense) : Exclusive Viennese concert with music from Mozart and Strauss and/or a taste of Vienna tour.

Day 6: (Bratislava)
Set on the crossroads of ancient trade routes in the heart of Europe, Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, embodies various cultures – primarily Celtic, Roman and Slavic.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour including the enchanting Old City with its Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the Gothic Cathedral of St. Martin, or take part in a hike to Bratislava Castle. This afternoon, enjoy a home-hosted coffee and cake with a Slovakian family. This evening, the captain will welcome you to the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 7: (Budapest)
Budapest is Eastern Europe’s liveliest and most cosmopolitan city. Enjoy a guided tour of the city sights where you will pass by the Hungarian Parliament Building, Buda Castle and the Chain Bridge linking Buda and Pest. Or, join a guided hike to Buda Hill. This evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner, complete with folk dancing and music. Following this, the ship will take you for a night-time cruise along the Danube, passing under the city’s numerous bridges.

Day 8: (Budapest— Depart)
After breakfast, it’s time to say farewell to your fellow passengers and disembark the ship for your transfer to the airport.

Cost listed in chart above is current 2020 pricing and is based on double occupancy and is not discounted and is subject to change after January 31, 2020.
If booking with $500 deposit prior to January 31, 2020, you are guaranteed 2020 pricing as listed in chart above.

For Single occupancy, the passenger will need to pay the 2nd fare in addition to there own.

Cost of the cruise does not include airfare unless booking prior to February 28th, 2020 and you choose the
Free Air option. 

Cost of the cruise does not include hotel nights prior to July 4th, 2021
You will need to book your own hotel for nights in Munich prior to our departure on July 4th, 2021.

A deposit of $500 per person is required to book the trip

Payment Schedule

Initial Deposit - $500 per person (Refundable until January 31st, 2020).

2nd Payment - $500 per person is due by May 1st, 2020.

3rd Payment - $500 per person is due by August 1st, 2020.

4th Payment - $500 per person is due by November 1st, 2020.

5th Payment - $500 per person is due by February 1st, 2021.

Final  Payment is due by April 1st, 2021.

Failure to pay the balance within 90 days of the cruise or tour departure date will result in cancellation and loss of the deposit. 


Cancellation Policy
After January 31, 2020 - $500.00 per person Non Refundable
89-60 days prior to departure - 35% of total price
59-30 days prior to departure - 50% of total price
29 – 0 days prior to departure - 100% of total price

If additional services have been added to the booking (i.e. extra hotel nights, meals, group transfers, sightseeing additions) additional penalties may apply.

Pre- and post-trip accommodations cancelled between 14 days and the day of departure may incur penalties up to 100% of the accommodations cost.

Transfers
Arrival and departure airport transfers are included as part of the packages providing guests arrive and depart on cruise start and end dates. Transfers are not included for guests under their own arrangements pre- or post-tour.

Name Changes
Name changes made after booking has been deposited will be processed as a cancellation and rebook.  Standard cancellation penalties will apply.  Deposits are non-transferable.

Online Registration (Trip Personaliser)
In order to verify that we have the correct booking information on file for our mutual guests, we require that all agents or guests are responsible to complete our pre-registration process upon deposit, 150-120 days prior to departure or no later than the final payment date.  Any information entered within 90 days of departure will incur a $50 per invoice administration fee.  
 
The following will be required to complete Trip Personaliser:
•  Verification of personal/ guest information accuracy on all documents
•  Provide emergency contacts
•  Sign and submit any medical waivers or advisements
•  Advise flight information for eligible transfers
 
Please note: Final travel documents will NOT be issued until completion of pre-registration. Any delay in issuing documents will be subject to additional administration fees of $50 per invoice. 

Medical, Mobility And Other Special Requirements
 All medical, mobility and health issues must be noted in the booking record at time of booking.  Forms are required to be completed in Trip Personaliser prior to final payment for those guests with mobility issues, health concerns, sleep apnea or oxygen machines. Scenic cannot accommodate completely wheelchair bound guests.

Before You Leave
Required Travel Documents: It is the guest’s responsibility to obtain and possess all valid travel documents for their vacation. This includes acquiring all visas and immunizations required for their nationality by all countries on the itinerary. 

Passports: All guests must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date. It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure any applicable visas for all countries visited have been obtained prior to departure. Failure to obtain correct documentation will mean the guest will be unable to participate in particular shore excursions and may be denied boarding and/or entry into certain countries. Meeting necessary passport and visa entry requirements and costs is the sole responsibility of guests.

Travel Protection Insurance
We strongly recommend the purchase of travel protection.  Scenic recommends Trip Mate travel protection program.
